Broome County Bar Association
LAWYERS REFERRAL SERVICE
The Broome County Bar Association's Lawyer Referral Service is designed
to provide beginning legal assistance to those who have legal questions
or concerns. For a fee of $35.00, payable to the Broome County Bar Association,
we will refer you to an attorney whose area of concentration in law matches
your area of need. The attorney will grant you a 30-minute consultation
at no charge. They will answer any legal questions you have, and give
you their best guidance regarding your concern.
If you would like to be referred to an attorney, we accept cash, check
or money orders made payable to the Broome County Bar Association. We
accept walk-in payments between the hours of 2-5pm, or you can mail your
payment to the Broome County Bar Association, 53 Chenango Street,
Suite 201, Binghamton, NY 13901. Along with your payment, we will
need your name, address and phone number and the area of law in which
you need assistance (by using our downloadable
form) so that we can direct your concern to the proper attorney. If
you are unsure what area of law your concern falls into, please phone
(607) 723-6331 between 9am and 5pm Monday - Friday.
Upon receipt of your payment, a referral will be made, and we will provide
you with receipt of payment and the attorney's name, address, firm and
phone number. You will need to contact the attorney to schedule your consultation.
Please let them know you have been referred by the Lawyer Referral Service
and are to receive a half-hour free consultation. You may request an office
consultation or a phone consultation. Office consultations will be scheduled
within 1-5 days from the date of the referral. Phone consultations can
sometime occur sooner, however, you will need to schedule the time of
the phone consultation, and agree to pay any long distance charges.

in mind that we have no attorneys on staff that can answer your legal
questions, and that all concerns will be directed to an attorney through
the Lawyer's Referral Service at the time of payment.
