The Broome County Bar Association, located in Binghamton, New York, was incorporated on April 23, 1906. The objectives of the Association are to:

  • advance the science of jurisprudence,
  • promote reforms in the law,
  • facilitate the administration of justice,
  • serve the public,
  • elevate the standards of integrity, honor and competence in the legal profession and particularly of the practicing lawyer,
  • and promote a spirit of collegiality among its members.

We provide information and services to our 475 regular and 80 associate members and the legal community, and the general public, such as:

  • Continuing Legal Education (CLE)
  • Recognition and awards,
  • Committees which deal with substantive law, the courts and special programs,
  • Information on professional standards through our Professional Ethics and Grievance Committees, which promote the highest standards of professional conduct
  • The Bar Notes, a monthly publication for our membership, and
  • Lawyer Referral Services, a program designed to assist the members of the general public in locating attorneys suited to their individual legal needs.
